Cleberations are on when India wins a match . Celebrations are on when Sania Mirza moves up in the scale . Celebration for semester results . Celebrations for brithdays . Celebrations for new mobile phones , new car . We just find reasons to celebrate . Thanks to our tradition that gives us so many occassions to celebrate . But are we forgetting one major thing that each and every one of us MUST CELEBRATE . Oh ! Yes we are . How many of us truly CELEBRATE our Independence day ???
It is ironical . A freedom struggle that created vibrations around the world is not being celebrated by everyone who is enjoying it .
When in school , everyone attends the independence day and republic day celebrations . And there it ends . In schools it is made compulsary that everyone attends the independence day celebrations . But most colleges and offices it does not happen . The government is definitely celebrating both the days in great stlye . But it cannot be made the responsibility to make sure every one of us do celebrate it . What maximun we can do is join them and celebrate it together .
It actually struck me very badly on my head once when a notice was read in my class . the notice read "On account of Independence day , tomorrow will be a HOLIDAY " . After this , I felt very bad . Our Independence day is called a HOLIDAY . Apart from the percentage of poeple who do celebrate it , for others it is a day where they can relax , watch a movie , have fun etc . Hundreds and Thousands of men and women laid down their lives so that we can have a life where we have freedom to decide upon things and is this the gratitude we repay ?
Who can we blame ? ? The government ,Educational Institutions ,Business Firms – No . We are to be blamed . The fault is ours . We have been cut off from all our duties for one day so that we can CELEBRATE and GLORIFY the work of our ancestors who made CELEBRATION possible in this country . It is We who misuse it as a holiday . We need to change . WE .

comments on my second article…i think there is no need to celebrate independence day..its absolutely unnecessary..its a day to remember those ppl who sacrificed..where does celebration come in here??independence day is not a festival…and one more thing our country is not independent in many ways..
good one CRK,ya i too felt the same,but after watchin a movie on that day.Atleast we cud c the films of our National leaders which are broadcasted on that day by some commercial Channels.
